 PCCA BACKGROUND INFORMATION
History:
The Pacific Coast Coffee Association was founded in 1932 under a charter to support all
organizations involved in the coffee industry on the Pacific Coast of the United States
and Canada.
Since the organization's inception, the coffee industry has gone through many changes.
While large roasters have maintained their involvement in the PCCA, the number of moderate
sized businesses has grown to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse group of
consumers. As consumer trends shifted, so has the PCCA membership so that the organization
remains relevant and committed to the support of a dynamic industry.
Mission:
Our goal is to encourage growth and prosperity in the coffee business.
PCCA SERVICES
In order to ensure that the Association remain up-to-date, we are making an effort to
reach out to coffee businesses that are not currently part of our membership. We would
like to invite you to attend one of our events, meet the members and gain an appreciation
for the value of membership in the PCCA.
Pacific Coast Coffee Association Green Contract:
The Association provides a contract for transacting business as well as means for
arbitration.
Seminars and Workshops:
Tapping into the expertise of the membership, we have several seminars a year addressing
topics from futures trading to environmental concerns when roasting coffee. Additionally,
we are committed to bringing in outside experts when needed to ensure that the membership
remain current on all relevant issues.
State and Federal Government Contract:
The PCCA represents the coffee business at the governmental level when lobbying efforts
are deemed to be appropriate. The organization also serves as a conduit of information for
government agencies looking to address the industry.
Sponsorship of a Source Trip:
Recent trips have included Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Guatemala and have given
members a unique, inside look at production in these varied locations. Additionally,
contacts made at source have provided members with a unique advantage by creating lasting
friendships and business contacts.
Sponsorship of Events:
The PCCA has sponsored several events a year that provide a unique opportunity for
members to share ideas and concerns about the industry in a relaxed
environment.
PCCA MEMBERSHIP
From one store roaster operators to international corporations, the members of the PCCA
contribute a wealth of knowledge to an industry that has a history of mutual support and
shared knowledge. The membership is made up of coffee roasters, coffee
dealers, coffee brokers and all other firms associated in any way with coffee,

In order to ensure the Association remain up-to-date, we are making efforts to reach out
